Job summary

The Natural History Museum of Utah is seeking a part-time Events Support Staff member to handle complete setup and teardown of events and to provide on-site support during events. Typical events include dinners, weddings, and corporate galas, with 10 to 1400 guests, mostly in the evenings and on weekends.

Responsibilities include monitoring key locations during events, assisting guests and vendors with exceptional service, and attending staff meetings.

Qualifications

• 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
• Weekends and evenings availability REQUIRED.
• Prior event industry and customer service experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• The complete set-up and teardown of events.
• During the event, monitor key locations in the museum for event activity.
• Provide museum guests, staff, caterers, and vendors with exceptional customer service.
• Attend Events Support staff meetings; other duties as assigned.
• Position requires near constant movement and lifting of tables, chairs, and other furniture; must be comfortable lifting more than 25 pounds.
