Job summary

University of Central Missouri (UCM) is seeking a graduate student to support Library Services during evenings and weekends. You will open/close the library on a rotating schedule, assist patrons at the Information Desk, and ensure smooth operation of public spaces.

This role requires strong customer service, reliability, and the ability to handle confidential information. Responsibilities include managing checkouts, guiding users to resources, assisting with WEPA printing, and recording usage

Qualifications

• Must be a current UCM Graduate student.
• Availability to work evenings, late nights, and weekends.
• Customer service experience and prior library experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal classification systems preferred.
• Ability to manipulate books and materials up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Check materials in and out at Information Desk using the library's automated circulation system.
• Sort and re-shelve library materials and provide direction to resources.
• Support WEPA printing and answer related questions.
• Redirect calls and inquiries to appropriate library or campus departments.
• Accurately record statistical and usage data.
• Maintain confidentiality of patron information per policy.
• Assist patrons during emergencies and report facility or service concerns as needed.
