Job summary

Richland Library Blythewood is seeking a customer-focused library assistant to help patrons locate, check out, renew materials, place holds, and use the library's automated system. You will answer reference questions, assist with equipment like PAC terminals and copiers, and support daily operations while upholding library policies and quality service.

Evenings and weekend shifts are required; the role offers a welcoming work environment and opportunities to help the community access information

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with two years of directly related experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with locating, checking out, renewing materials, and placing holds.
• Answer reference and directional questions in-library and over the phone.
• Support use of PAC terminals, copiers, and other equipment.
• Interpret library policies and refer complex requests to staff as appropriate.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, meeting rooms, and orderly collections.
• Implement best practice standards.
