Job summary

Mercer University is seeking a Library Assistant II for the Macon, GA campus. The role provides frontline circulation services in a team-based setting under the Circulation Manager's daily guidance.

Responsibilities include operating the web-based circulation system, handling reserves, opening/closing the library, training student assistants, shelving materials, and monitoring security during assigned hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Minimum 1 year of library experience or direct customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a web-based circulation system and provide reserve services.
• Open and close the library building and supervise student assistants.
• Shelve materials and monitor patron and building security during assigned hours.
• Train and supervise student assistants and ensure workflow.
• Work evenings (until 10pm) and Saturdays as needed.
