Job summary

RISE Services Group in Harrisonburg, VA, seeks a part-time Job Coach / Employment Specialist to provide individualized employment support to people with disabilities in the local area. This evenings- and weekends-focused role offers meaningful coaching at community and employer worksites, with travel and documentation responsibilities.

No bachelor’s degree or prior job-coaching experience is required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Reliable availability for evening and weekend work, ideally between 3:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Provide job coaching at community employer worksites.
• Help participants learn and perform assigned job duties.
• Teach workplace routines, safety procedures, time management, and employer expectations.
• Reinforce appropriate workplace communication and professional behavior.
• Help participants communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Encourage independence without doing participants’ job duties for them.
• Identify and develop natural workplace supports.
• Monitor progress and adjust support as participants become more independent.
• Assist with transportation according to participants’ approved service plans.
• Complete accurate progress notes and required electronic documentation.
• Communicate schedule changes, transportation issues, safety concerns, incidents, or developments to RISE management.
• Participate in required training, supervision, and service-planning activities.
