Job summary

RISE Services is seeking a compassionate Job Coach / Employment Specialist to help individuals with disabilities prepare for, obtain, and maintain meaningful employment in Bridgewater, Harrisonburg, and surrounding Rockingham County communities.

This hands-on, community-based role offers daytime hours, up to 29 hours per week with potential to transition to full-time; training is provided; mileage reimbursement; and opportunities to support job coaching, job development, and employer outreach.

Qualifications

• Dependability with a consistent work schedule.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel throughout Bridgewater, Harrisonburg, and surrounding communities.
• Bachelor's degree not required; relevant experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized job coaching at employer worksites and in community settings.
• Help participants learn duties, routines, safety procedures, and employer expectations.
• Teach workplace communication and professional behavior.
• Identify and develop natural workplace supports.
• Monitor progress and adjust coaching strategies.
• Assist with resumes, applications, interviews, and job searches.
• Coordinate interviews, onboarding support, and employer outreach.
• Complete progress notes and maintain participant records.
