Job summary

Hope Haven in Charlotte, NC seeks a part-time Enrichment Specialist to plan, coordinate, and facilitate recreational and social activities for residents of a 24-hour residential facility. This role focuses on evenings and weekends, building a calendar of arts and wellness events while recruiting volunteers and ensuring safety and program compliance.

The specialist will engage residents, track attendance, and collaborate with staff to enhance quality of life and community engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy, human services, social work, or related field preferred.
• Experience in recreational programming, activities coordination, volunteer management, or related setting preferred.
• Comfortable working in a residential Substance Use Disorder or behavioral health setting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to coordinate volunteers and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a regular weekly/monthly calendar of evening and weekend enrichment activities for residents.
• Recruit, screen, and coordinate outside volunteers and community partners who lead activities.
• Serve as on-site point of contact for volunteers during activities, ensuring setup, facilitation, and cleanup.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate activities when volunteer coverage is unavailable.
• Promote activities to residents and tailor outreach to interests and needs.
• Maintain attendance records and basic participation data.
