Job summary

The City of Eden Prairie is seeking a part-time Community Center Customer Service team member for evenings, closings and weekends at the Eden Prairie Community Center. This role focuses on welcoming customers, assisting with registrations, and delivering friendly, efficient service.

Shifts run evenings and weekends, with building hours 5:30am–10:00pm; starting wage is $17.00 per hour. Candidates should have strong customer service skills and be able to lift up to 30 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Minimum of three years progressive experience in a customer service/office support role; administrative support experience including program registration, membership management, data entry, word processing, and record management; previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); experience with Rec Trac software preferred.
• Lifting/pulling/pushing/moving/carrying up to 10 lbs frequently, 10-20 lbs occasionally, and over 30 lbs on a limited basis; ability to bend/stand/reach.
• Most work is performed in the Community Center; some travel in a car to other recreation buildings may occur.
• Pre-employment processes include reference checks, background check, work history verification and education verification.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and assists customers and ensures services are provided in a friendly, efficient, and effective manner.
• Manage membership and program registration; provide work direction to the Customer Service team and other part-time staff.
• Support patron relations, registrations, reservations, meetings, events, and programs for the Park and Recreation Department.
• Provide administrative support such as IT support, word processing, data entry, filing, cash handling, bookkeeping, and record management.
• Monitor activities to ensure safety compliance during after-school hours; perform a variety of duties as needed.
