Job summary

Auburn YMCA is seeking a Building Activity Supervisor to oversee the building during evening and weekend hours, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for members, staff and program participants.

You will monitor operations, respond to incidents, and support staff while representing the YMCA with professionalism and strong communication. The role emphasizes youth-friendly supervision and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility operations and security during assigned shifts.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the building and assist members and guests.
• Build positive relationships with members, participants, staff, and volunteers.
• Provide support to YMCA staff and programs as needed.
• Serve as primary responder to incidents and submit reports.
• Respond to fire alarms and emergency situations.
• Report maintenance, safety, or repair issues to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with facility opening and closing procedures.
• Follow YMCA Youth Protection policies and ensure monitoring and reporting.
• Attend required meetings and trainings; respond promptly to communications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Membership Director or senior staff.
