Job summary

NFI Industries in Port Wentworth, GA seeks a Warehouse Operations Manager I to lead high-volume transload and cross-dock activity on a second shift. You will oversee warehouse supervisors, optimize inbound/outbound schedules, and ensure timely freight processing with a focus on efficiency and safety.

Reporting to the General Manager of the Distribution Center, you will drive labor planning, equipment usage, and KPI performance while maintaining strong customer service and compliance with SOPs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in warehouse, distribution, cross-dock or transload operations.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and yard management systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of warehouse/mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and willingness to become certified as needed.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume operation with changing priorities.
• Experience with or willingness to learn performance metrics, process improvement and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
• Excellent talent management and team-building skills.
• Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Develops a strategic plan with the General Manager to ensure efficient and cost-effective operation of the facility.
• Ensures efficient inbound, outbound, and transload schedules to maximize trailer throughput.
• Directs the operations of the warehouse supervisors and personnel.
• Oversees inbound freight through cross-dock and transload operations for timely processing.
• Audits compliance of internal and external SOPs.
• Ensures equipment is used efficiently.
• Reviews daily objectives and determines productivity to meet building goals.
• Matches personnel skills to work requirements.
• Monitors freight flow, trailer turns, labor utilization, and equipment usage to drive efficiency.
• Plans long-term labor needs based on sales, forecasts and historical data.
• Recommends improvements to freight flow and dock productivity.
