Lake Forest Place LLC in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Unit Secretary for the Skilled Nursing Department. This part‑time role (4pm–7pm, Monday–Friday) involves managing phones, handling admissions/discharges clerical work, and supporting nursing staff across units.

You should be a high school graduate with at least one year of experience in a secretarial or clerical role, capable of using medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Minimum of one year work experience.
• Secretarial or clerical experience.
• Reading, writing and comprehension skilled to use medical terminology.
• Long-term care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Floats between nursing units and responds to pager requests.
• Handles telephone communications and messages.
• Assists nurse with special projects.
• Participates in activities on an as-needed basis.
• Handles admissions/discharges clerical tasks and notifies departments.
• Orders name plates and keeps biographies up to date.
• Photographs residents at admission for MAR and wandering risk.
• Prepares and maintains activity boards and logs.
