Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is hiring a Unit Receptionist/Patient Care Technician for the Med/Surg Department. The role supports the nurse by performing front desk duties, basic patient care, and ADL assistance in an evening, 32-hour shift.

The UR/PCT will handle patient management, documentation, and coordination to ensure smooth unit operations and a culture of teamwork. CNA/EMT/CPR credentials required or in progress within mandated timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA certification or completion of one year in an accredited RN program or EMT-B is required.
• Current AHA CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
• NVCIT certification or completion within 3 months of hire required.
• Experience in clerical or receptionist roles is preferred.
• Experience in an acute care environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical duties of the unit and support nurse communication.
• Assist with patient activities including ADL, vital signs, bathing and feeding.
• Support front desk patient management and administrative tasks.
• Transport patients and maintain safety and comfort as directed by nursing staff.
• Transcribe physician orders and complete required forms and communications.
