Job summary

Day Kimball Health is seeking a Unit Receptionist/Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department in Putnam, CT. This per diem role supports front desk patient management and basic patient care tasks under nursing supervision.

The UR/PCT performs clerical duties, assists with vital signs, ADL assistance, and patient transport, while contributing to a culture of teamwork and professionalism in a bustling ED.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CNA certification or completion of one year in an accredited RN program, or EMT-B, or equivalent required within 3 months of hire.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Current NVCIT certification within 3 months of hire.
• Must work a minimum of 32 hours.

Responsibilities

• Meets the physical demands of the position.
• Demonstrates ability to cope with and function under stress.
• Meets skill certification requirements for designated units.
• Remain alert and in visual contact with the patient at all times.
• Assist the patient in daily activities as directed by the nurse.
• Assist the nurse in restraining and removing restraints.
• Transcribes physician orders and completes forms as assigned.
• Aids patients and nurses with ADL, Vital Signs, and patient Plan of Care.
