Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is hiring an Unit Receptionist/Patient Care Technician for the Med/Surg area. This role supports front desk patient management under nursing direction, assisting with basic patient care tasks and daily activities to help the unit run smoothly.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA or RN/EMT-B level experience, CPR and NVCIT certifications, and preferred clerical/receptionist experience in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA certification or completion of one year of clinical RN program, or EMT-B or equivalent required.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire.
• Current NVCIT certification or within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Meets the physical demands of the position.
• Demonstrates ability to cope with and function under stress.
• Meets skill certification requirements for designated units.
• Remain alert and in visual contact with the patient at all times.
• Assist the patient in daily activities as directed by the nurse.
• Assist the nurse in restraining and removing restraints.
• Completes all necessary forms, requisitions, communications and special projects as assigned. Accurately transcribes physician’s orders (when applicable).
• Assists patients and nurses as necessary with ADL, Vital Signs, and patient Plan of Care.
