Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT seeks an Unit Receptionist/Patient Care Technician for the Med/Surg Department. The role supports unit operations, front desk management, and basic patient care under nurse supervision.

Responsibilities include ADL support, vital signs, and assisting with patient transport. Requires CNA/EMT-B or equivalent and CPR/NVCIT certifications within 3 months. Excellent teamwork encouraged in a nonprofit, community-focused hospital.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical terminology and keyboarding skills preferred.
• Current CNA certification or equivalent required; CPR and NVCIT within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Meets the physical demands of the position.
• Demonstrates ability to cope with stress and maintain composure.
• Meets skill certification requirements for designated units.
• Remain alert and in visual contact with the patient at all times.
• Assist the patient in daily activities as directed by the nurse.
• Assist the nurse with restraints as needed.
• Complete forms and transcribe physician orders accurately.
• Assist patients and nurses with ADL, vital signs, and care plans.
