Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Unit Clerical Associate for Harding Hospital on the Second Shift (3-11 PM). This role coordinates the Unit Communication Center, supports the patient care team and helps ensure efficient information flow and privacy compliance on the unit.

Qualifications

• Strong reading, writing and simple math skills required.
• Basic computer and keyboarding experience required.
• Successful completion of UCA training program is required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Previous health care or service-oriented field experience, in an acute care setting preferred.
• Medical terminology beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Unit Communication Center and manage information flow on the unit.
• Maintain hospital client/guest relations and interdepartmental communications.
• Organize and disseminate information to the patient care team.
• Maintain health care information and records and protect patient privacy.
• Maintain IT equipment in the Unit Communication Center and support new technology.
• Support delivery of excellent patient care under the RN in charge.
