Job summary

The Ohio State University Medical Center is seeking a Unit Clerical Associate for the Harding Hospital unit (M, T, W) from 3-11 PM with no weekends. This role supports the Unit Communication Center, patient care teams, and hospital guest relations under the direction of the RN in charge.

Responsibilities include information coordination, privacy protection, and ensuring efficient communications and data handling. Background in healthcare settings is valued.

Qualifications

• Strong reading, writing and simple math skills.
• Basic computer and keyboarding experience.
• Successful completion of UCA training program is required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Previous health care or service-oriented field experience, in an acute care setting preferred.
• Medical terminology beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Unit Communication Center through issue identification and prioritization.
• Manage hospital client/guest relations and interdepartmental communications.
• Disseminate information to the patient care team and maintain health records.
• Protect patient privacy related to health information.
• Maintain IT and communication equipment in the Unit Communication Center.
• Support the delivery of excellent patient care under RN supervision.
