Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH seeks an evening shift support role to provide basic supportive and trauma-informed care under the supervision of a registered nurse or clinical supervisor. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and current enrollment in half of a Psychology, Social Work, or related undergraduate program, plus BLS, TCI, and First Aid certifications.

It is 24 hours per week with 3pm–11:30pm shifts and every other weekend, with evening and weekend

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in a Psychology, Social Work, or related undergraduate program (half-time).
• BLS, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and First Aid certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Participates with interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Provides trauma-informed care and uses de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
• Acts as a resource on diagnoses, behavior plans, and crisis management.
