Samaritan Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the 12-hour evening shift in Troy, NY. The selected candidate will scrub, maintain sterile fields, prepare operating rooms, and assist with instrument counts and patient transport.

Requirements include graduation from a nationally accredited surgical technologist program with CST credential, or equivalent military/branch training, plus 1–2 years OR experience preferred and strong dexterity. Equal opportunity employer.

Formación

• Nationally accredited surgical technologist program completed and CST credential.
• NYS LPN license (if applicable).
• Military training in surgical technology (Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine Corps/Coast Guard/PHSC).
• Evidence of surgical technologist employment within the four years before 1 Jan 2015.
• 1–2 years OR experience preferred.
• Good hearing, vision, and hand dexterity for instrumentation.

Responsabilidades

• Providing assistance as first scrub at the surgical table for select procedures.
• Create and maintain sterile field.
• Prepare operating rooms.
• Monitor breaks in technique, scrub/gown technique, and maintain sterile field.
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening; maintain sterility of instruments and supplies.
• Perform and document accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts.
• Positioning and transport of patients.
