Job summary

Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a 12-hour weekend track on the day shift. The selected candidate will assist as first scrub, create and maintain sterile fields, and prepare operating rooms.

Minimum requirements include a nationally accredited surgical technology program and CST credential or NYS LPN license or eligible military training; 1–2 years OR experience preferred. Strong dexterity, teamwork, and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Completed a nationally accredited program for surgical technologists and CST credential.
• NYS LPN License or military program credential is acceptable.
• 1–2 years OR experience preferred.
• Able to maintain sterility and assist in multiple surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide first scrub at the surgical table for selected procedures.
• Create and maintain sterile field.
• Prepare operating rooms.
• Monitor scrub/gown technique and sterile field maintenance.
• Inspect sterile items for contamination and maintain sterility.
• Count instruments, sponges, and needles per policy.
• Position and transport patients.
