Texas Children's in The Woodlands is seeking a Surgery Coordinator for the Outpatient Audiology Clinic. The role focuses on surgery scheduling for multiple subspecialty services and coordinating providers’ schedules to effectively manage patient care while delivering excellent customer service in a clinical setting.

Ideal candidates will have strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work until 6PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years healthcare experience required.
• Prior work in a specialty clinic environment preferred.
• Availability to work until 6PM with schedule flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Schedules ancillary appointments, diagnostic tests and follow-up appointments per provider orders/requisitions.
• Schedules follow-up appointments for post-operative patients.
• Maintains an efficient filing and retrieval system on a weekly basis.
• Ensures all necessary patient forms for surgery are provided and filled out.
• Refers patients with insurance or funding concerns to the financial counselor or prior-authorization dept.
• Informs patients about insurance responsibilities and referrals when required.
• Creates and coordinates provider master surgery schedules/templates for new and existing providers.
• Responds to patient questions regarding appointment status, wait times, or issues with sensitivity to culture.
