The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University thatis seeking an Evening Supervisor for the Charles C. MyersLibrary.
Position Summary:
The Evening Supervisor helps create and sustain the Charles C.Myers Library as a welcoming learning studio and idea lab duringevening hours by providing research and information assistance, supervising student employees, supporting the use of libraryresources and technologies, and fostering an environment ofcuriosity, collaboration, and academic engagement. This positionplays a key role in connecting students with the resources, spaces,and support needed for learning, research, and project developmentwhile ensuring smooth library operations and high-quality publicservice. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday evenings whenclasses are in session, with additional hours during academicbreaks and summer sessions determined in consultation with theAssistant Director for Public Services.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide research, information, and resource assistance tostudents, faculty, and staff during evening hours
- Assist with supervising, training, and supporting studentworkers, ensuring a high standard of service and engagement withlibrary users
- Assist with circulation services, equipment lending, reserves,and user account inquiries
- Support students in the effective use of library resources,learning technologies, and collaborative workspaces
- Troubleshoot basic technology issues related to libraryequipment, digital resources, and user access
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and productive environment thatencourages learning, exploration, collaboration, and responsiblescholarship
- Monitor library spaces to ensure safe, effective, andappropriate use of facilities and resources
- Communicate effectively with library staff regardingoperational issues, user needs, and service improvements tomaintain continuity across shifts
- Perform opening and/or closing procedures as assigned
- Support library programs, services, and initiatives thatadvance student learning, creativity, and engagement
- Support library operations during academic breaks and summersessions, as scheduled
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University'sMission

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree Required; Graduate Degree Preferred
- Experience providing customer service, educational support,student services, or other public-facing work
- Demonstrate proficiency with computers, office software, onlineresearch tools, and common digital technologies
- Available to work scheduled evening hours during the academicyear
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or leading student employeesor other staff preferred
- Experience working in a library, learning commons, academicsupport center, educational setting, or customer-serviceenvironment preferred
