Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and manage associates across departments.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Accredited as a Food Safety Manager or able to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with day-to-day operations of the entire store.
• Hire, train, and develop associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast service.
• Provide leadership to promote Food Lion's Guiding Principles and values.
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure safety compliance.
• Utilize tools like financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, and CAO for decisions.
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maximize sales through excellent customer service and minimize shrink.
