Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This full-time role offers 8-hour evening shifts, working to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute reusable surgical instruments across the hospital.

Under supervision, you will operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment, adhere to safety and quality standards, and contribute to patient care by ensuring ready-to-use instruments for procedures. Providence St.

Qualifications

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
• Within 1 year of hire National Certified Registered Central Service Technician or National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician within 1 year.
• 1 year of experience, or graduate from a central service program.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute reusable surgical instrumentation and implants.
• Operate steam autoclave, hydrogen peroxide sterilizers, sonic equipment, washers and heat sealers.
• Store, date, rotate and distribute reusable surgical/clinical instrumentation.
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards to ensure patient safety.
