Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize and distribute reusable surgical instruments across the hospital.

The role involves evening 8-hour shifts and full-time scheduling. Under supervision you will operate autoclaves and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers, manage sterilization workflows, and ensure proper storage, dating and rotation of instruments to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
• Within 1 year of hire National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, or
• Within 1 year of hire National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
• 1 year of experience, or
• Graduate from a central service program.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instrumentation and implants.
• Operates steam autoclave and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers.
• Assemble, sterilize, store, date, rotate and distribute reusable surgical instruments.
• Maintain quality and sterility of equipment throughout the hospital.
• Follow safety and infection-control guidelines.
