Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL, seeks a Central Sterile Technician to sterilize surgical instruments and maintain a sterile operating environment in our Surgery Department. The role requires ensuring instruments are safe for procedures and following strict infection control protocols.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, a current BLS certificate, and prefer Central Supply Certification with 2+ years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS (AHA) Certificate.
• Central Supply Certification, preferred.
• Two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting, preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical trays and instruments per infection control standards.
• Monitor inventory and restock sterile supplies for ongoing procedures.
• Enter data into tracking systems and process patient charge cards for billing.
• Transport sterile and used instruments across departments per protocol.
• Communicate with surgical staff to resolve equipment or supply issues promptly.
• Prepare correct instruments and trays for procedures in accordance with surgeon preferences.
