Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Central Service Tech to support the sterile processing of instruments and medical supplies. This role collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of sterile instrument sets and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED plus completion of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program, with related experience if certification is not present.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program required.
• In lieu of certification prior experience as a Central Service Tech or Surgical Tech required.
• CCST or CST certifications may be required upon hire if no prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment in a timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent workflow and provides superior customer service.
