Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Staffing Coordinator for the Part-Time Evening shift (2:00pm-10:00pm, flex 12:00pm-8:00pm) within NSG-Scheduling. Under supervision, you will gather data, input information, and generate staffing reports while serving as receptionist and maintaining files.

Responsibilities include developing optimal staffing schedules, monitoring nursing coverage, and adjusting Kronos for sick calls and overtime.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a level normally acquired through completion of high school.
• Business background with strong technical abilities.
• Requires analytical skills necessary to maintain and retrieve data and organize workload according to established priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develops optimal staffing schedule based on employee needs, unit coverage and hospital policies.
• Obtains data regarding nursing coverage, staffing patterns and work productivity.
• Generates daily, weekly or monthly schedules for unit or individual employees.
• Revises Kronos system on a daily basis in response to sick calls, overtime and benefit time adjustments.
• Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls. Screens messages and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Communicates effectively with staff and management and maintains confidentiality.
