Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a level normally acquired through completion of high school.
• Business background with strong technical abilities and knowledge of standard office equipment.
• Requires approximately three to six months on-the-job experience to understand policies and procedures.
• Analytical skills to maintain and retrieve data and organize workload.

Responsibilities

• Develops optimal staffing schedule based on employee needs, unit coverage and hospital policies.
• Obtains data regarding nursing coverage, staffing patterns and work productivity.
• Generates daily, weekly or monthly schedules for unit or individual employees.
• Revises Kronos system daily in response to sick calls, overtime and time adjustments.
• Screens visitors and telephone calls and records messages as needed.
• Maintains organized, accurate records and documents for hospital nursing staff.
• Works with Nurse Managers and Nursing Administration to ensure optimum staffing on all units.
