Job summary

Labcorp in Richmond, VA is hiring a Specimen Processor I to join our team. The position runs Monday–Friday, 4:00pm–12:30am with overtime and rotating weekends as needed.

You will prepare specimens for analysis, label and route them correctly, and participate in packaging and shipment to testing facilities. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and may include 1 year of lab or production experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
• 1 year of medical or production experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs and pass a color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely
• Resolve and document any problem specimens
