Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician in Phoenix, AZ for evening shifts within the Sterile Processing Dept-Hosp. The role supports OR readiness by decontaminating, assembling, and distributing surgical instruments with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has CRCST certification and at least 1 year of SPD experience, with strong attention to detail and effective communication. Schedule is 5x8 2:30pm-11:00pm, Monday through Friday, with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or CRCST certification with limited experience.
• CRCST certification preferred and knowledge of decontamination and sterile processing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments following established protocols.
• Maintain sterilization logs and quality assurance records for equipment.
• Identify and interpret surgical schedules and terminology to support OR readiness.
• Track instrument inventory and communicate replacements to ensure operating rooms are prepared.
• Operate sterilization equipment (steam, hydrogen peroxide, washers) and related devices per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices.
