Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Mechanical aptitude to breakdown, clean, lubricate and reassemble instruments; solve incomplete trays.
• Preferred: national SPD Technician certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble and package surgical instruments following IFU and protocols.
• Maintain sterilization logs and QA records; manage instrument inventory and distribution.
• Interpret surgical schedules and prioritise instrumentation needs for timely procedures.
• Track instrumentation leaving the area using paper or computer logs; report replacements as needed.
• Operate sterilizers, washers and related equipment safely following policies.
