Job summary

CHEP USA is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional to support our Hammond, Louisiana plant. The role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with GAP safety and environmental SOPs, and guiding investigations into hazards and near misses to drive improvements.

You will train staff, lead safety orientations, monitor production activity, and collaborate with the Regional HSE team to mitigate plant risks while advancing continuous safety enhancements

Responsibilities

• Monitor production floor activity to ensure CHEP safety guidelines are followed
• Lead safety orientations and walkthroughs for new hires
• Conduct investigations of hazards and near-miss reports to improve safety culture
• Maintain safety documentation and records for plant personnel
• Partner with Regional HSE Specialist and site leadership to identify risks and implement corrective actions
• Lead safety committee meetings and develop mitigation plans for environmental concerns
• Support training and development to meet corporate health, safety, and environmental guidelines
