Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts seeks a registered nurse to deliver direct patient care in the Co Occurring Disorders Unit Web. The role uses the nursing process from admission to discharge to achieve safe, quality outcomes.

The position requires MA licensure and graduation from an accredited nursing program, with BLS (ACLS if current) and ongoing professional development. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and involvement in quality improvement are essential.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
• Current Massachusetts licensure and registration.
• BLS certification required for every RN (ACLS if current).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from Admission to Discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care.
• Delegates appropriately to others per job description and competency.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Educates patient/family and significant others.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with providers.
• Administers medications and therapies and assists physicians as required.
• Participates in Nursing Governance activities.
• Aids in staff education and development.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
