Job summary

Wayne Farms LLC is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on large manufacturing equipment. The role requires reading schematics, diagnosing issues, and maintaining records. You’ll work the 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift with on-the-job training and benefits starting day one.

Responsibilities include inspections, part replacement, shop organization, and coordinating with managers for scheduled maintenance. Strong communication and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational certificate in welding, maintenance, electrical, or related field preferred.
• Ability to read schematics/blueprints to diagnose problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts as necessary to ensure machines are in optimal working condition.
• Identify root cause of unexpected breakdowns of machines; repair quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime for machine.
• Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, ordering and installing replacement parts for machines as needed.
• Prepare reports documenting work performed.
• Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies as needed.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Collaborate with department heads regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
• Make necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culture.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
