Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment supporting patient care. Responsibilities include floor care, dusting, restroom sanitation, waste management, and setting up spaces for meetings and daily operations.

The role requires 2–3 years of hospital cleaning experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work evenings onsite.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred; can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.
• 2–3 years experience working with cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals/healthcare centers.
• Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently but also be a team player.
• Good communication and comprehension skills.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, windows, sills, blinds, and glass surfaces.
• Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles in assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenish supplies as needed.
• Remove debris and maintain cleanliness around building exteriors and surrounding areas.
• Operate and maintain high-speed and low-speed floor care equipment, including stripping and buffing machines.
• Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, events, and daily hospital operations.
• Identify and report maintenance or repair needs in assigned areas.
• Follow established safety, infection prevention, and environmental services procedures and standards.
• Provide courteous and professional service while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
