Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services staff member to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment on the evening shift. The role supports patient care, staff, and visitors by upholding rigorous cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities include floor care, waste sanitation, restroom hygiene, and setup for meetings and events. Requires high school diploma and 2–3 years hospital cleaning experience. Onsite location at 15 Francis Street, Boston.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• 2-3 years experience with hospital cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently but also be a team player.
• Good communication and comprehension skills.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, windows, sills, blinds, and glass surfaces.
• Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles in assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenish supplies as needed.
• Remove debris and maintain cleanliness around building exteriors and surrounding areas.
• Operate and maintain high-speed and low-speed floor care equipment, including stripping and buffing machines.
• Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, events, and daily hospital operations.
• Identify and report maintenance or repair needs in assigned areas.
• Follow established safety, infection prevention, and environmental services procedures and standards.
• Provide courteous and professional service while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
