Job summary

Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency is seeking a Site Assistant I to support ARCHES Project shelter operations in Polk and Marion counties. The role focuses on cleaning, laundry, clerical duties, data entry, and client navigation to resources, with a swing shift 4:00 PM–12:30 AM.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2 years in public or social services, ability to pass background checks, and willingness to obtain required certifications within dates.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of work experience in a public or social services role preferred.
• Background screening and pre-employment checks required.
• First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days is required.
• Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Background checks and drug/alcohol screenings are required prior to employment.
• Experience working with homeless or at-risk populations is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web tools; strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide program support such as cleaning, site upkeep, laundry, and supportive services.
• Assist clients with navigation to resources and answer phones.
• Support meal preparation and distribution; assist with guest laundry and computers.
• Handle incoming/outgoing mail and basic clerical tasks.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and respond to incidents.
• Support HMIS data entry and client follow-up activities.
• Attend required trainings and perform other duties as needed.
