Job summary

Primavera Foundation seeks a Shelter Operations Specialist for the 2nd shift (Wed–Sun, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.). You will help maintain a peaceful, safe environment, coordinate shelter operations, and supervise volunteers in a dynamic residential setting.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent, experience with vulnerable populations, and readiness to obtain ServSafe, MHFA, and first aid/CPR certifications. Flexible evenings and weekends are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software, including database programs.
• ServSafe Certification, or ability to obtain.
• Mental Health First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain.
• First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain.
• Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card, or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Interact with participants, volunteers, and staff professionally, reflecting Primavera’s guiding principles.
• Assist with orientation and welcome participants, explain guidelines, and maintain a safe environment.
• Cross-train in Residential Team Member duties and assist other team members as needed.
• Provide support in daily shelter operations including laundry, food, maintenance, and cleaning.
• Complete required paperwork and keep incident logs up to date.
• Perform hourly rounds and ensure proper kitchen procedures during meals.
• Manage shelter supply inventories and coordinate with volunteers for chores.
• Recruit and supervise participant volunteers, ensuring safety and adherence to rules.
• Oversee data entry, donation receipts, and shelter bed allocations.
