The Second Shift Security Specialist at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Inc. delivers exceptional customer service while ensuring the security and safety of the museum facility, campus, visitors, staff, volunteers, and collections.

The Specialist conducts thorough patrols, hazard checks, and assists with crowd management and emergency planning. They uphold high safety standards, stay current on protocols, and participate in the Safety Warden program.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills with diverse populations.
• Must be highly motivated, detail oriented and able to work independently with good decision-making.
• Must be able to work weekends, afterhours, holidays and overnight shifts.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work outside in all weather conditions.

Responsabilités

• Provides exceptional customer service and enforces security and visitor policies.
• Monitors emergency calls and provides first aid including CPR; supports outside agencies.
• Assists Visitor Services during regular hours and events.
• Patrols building, grounds, and parking; secures building after hours.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of museum operations and protocols.
• Leads emergency protocol evacuations and participates in safety drills.
• Manages Lost & Found and coordinates item returns.
• Escorts cash transports and offers basic vehicle assistance.
• Monitors Control Room operations and alarms; provides backup to other departments.
