Job summary

Johnston Community School District HIGH SCHOOL is seeking a full-time custodian to perform cleaning and general maintenance to keep facilities safe, clean, and welcoming. The role includes assisting with painting, repairs, and renovations, and supporting emergency responses.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and readiness for a 3:30 pm–11:30 pm shift. Background check and orientation will be completed upon offer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from ladders/scaffolding.
• Experience in general maintenance or school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs general cleaning and maintenance of the school building.
• Assists in painting, plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs.
• Remodeling and renovation assistance as needed.
• Reports major repairs promptly to supervisors.
• Supports emergency cleaning and evacuation procedures.
• Maintains school grounds including snow removal and moving furniture.
