Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders or scaffolding.
• Experience in mechanics/heating/plumbing/carpentry/electricity/painting desired.
• Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports.
• Valid Iowa driver license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general cleaning and maintenance of the school building, including cleaning and maintaining equipment.
• Reports major repairs or damage promptly to the Building Head Custodian, Principal, or Director of Buildings and Grounds.
• Locks doors and windows of assigned buildings.
• Cleans corridors during the day when conditions require it.
• Assists in moving classroom furniture, materials, and equipment as needed.
• Duties may vary as directed by supervisor.
