Job summary

Clark Creek Elementary School, part of the Cherokee County School District in Georgia, is seeking a Custodian for the 1:00pm–9:30pm shift at the Acworth campus. The role is salaried, non-exempt, with duties including cleaning, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, basic cleaning experience, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, follow instructions, and work well with staff and students.

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of GED preferred.
• Basic experience, skills, and training with cleaning, floor and restroom care, and equipment maintenance preferred.
• Able to lift and/or carry heavy objects (up to 35 pounds) long distances (more than 20 feet).
• Able to follow both written and oral instructions and work well with others.
• Assigned duties of Cherokee County Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction from Head Custodian, Supervisor, or Administrator.
• Perform custodial and preventative maintenance duties in all areas/locations of the District.
• Clean woodwork, walls, furniture, and windows using approved equipment and cleaning products.
• Mop, scrub, strip, wax, shampoo, vacuum, and spot-clean carpeting and floors.
• Climb and clean multilevel stairwells; climb a ladder or steps to complete tasks.
• Move furnishings as required for routine cleaning and for meetings/events.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and reports any safety concerns.
