Job summary

Northshore School District 417 Skyview Middle School in Bothell, Washington is seeking a Custodian for daytime hours with immediate start. The role focuses on health, cleanliness, and safety across the building, reporting to the Custodial Supervisor and facilitating maintenance and event prep as needed.

The position requires a minimum of 6 months of relevant experience, physical ability to lift 50 pounds, basic computer skills, and knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months recent successful work experience. Previous experience involving the care and cleaning of buildings and facilities preferred.
• Knowledge of basic institutional cleaning methods, procedures, and techniques.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, supplies and equipment.
• Ability to follow district policies and procedures and work under minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Must have physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning and minor maintenance of assigned areas.
• Classrooms and restrooms cleaning and sanitizing tasks.
• Moves furniture and assists with preparation for events.
• Maintains security of the building and reports safety hazards.
• Performs minor maintenance and uses cleaning equipment.
• Participates in summer cleaning teams as needed.
