Job summary

ServingSchools seeks a dependable custodian for the Skowhegan Area Middle School on the second shift. The position is full-time year-round, with a 40-hour work week, reporting to the Building Administrator and Support Services Manager.

Responsibilities include cleaning, safety checks, and basic repairs as needed while ensuring secure school facilities. The role requires a high school diploma or HiSET, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid equipment license.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a valid license for the type of equipment to be driven.
• Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Regulate heat and ventilation to provide seasonally appropriate temperatures and conserve resources.
• Shovel and sand walks and steps as appropriate.
• Sweep, mop and buff assigned spaces daily and dust furniture.
• In assigned area, scrub and disinfect toilet floors, clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• In assigned area, wash all windows inside and outside at least twice a year.
• Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for activities and as directed by the principal.
