Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a P.M. Custodian to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks in the assigned areas under the Head Custodian's direction.

The role emphasizes daily sanitation, equipment care, and safety compliance, with a focus on keeping restrooms and classrooms clean and orderly. Responsibilities include following checklists, reporting emergencies, securing the building after hours, and performing summer maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is minimum but not required
• Strong multi-tasking and time management abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Preferred experience as custodian/janitor or similar role
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment maintenance and operation
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and hazardous components

Responsibilities

• Attend work regularly and on time.
• Clean assigned areas and maintain daily cleanliness.
• Disinfect drinking fountains, sinks, urinals, and toilets daily with proper equipment separation.
• Complete daily Custodian Check List for each room/area.
• Sweep floors and lock exterior doors daily to ensure security.
• Empty waste containers daily and wash containers weekly.
