Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Custodian - Afternoon to maintain cleanliness of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and all school areas. This full-time role operates on the second shift, Monday through Friday, and pays $20.55–$21.75 per hour based on position and licensing.

Under the Building Supervisor, you will perform dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing; operate vacuums, auto scrubbers, and floor restoration equipment; and assist with events and inventory as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to maintain regular attendance, including shift days.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and safe use of cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain designat ed areas including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and auto scrubbers safely and keep them maintained.
• Assist Building Supervisor with tasks including event setup and inventory as needed.
• Care for outdoor areas: landscaping, trash removal, and snow removal as directed.
• Assist during and after lunch programs with cleaning tasks.
• Follow safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for all.
• Report maintenance or safety issues promptly to the Building Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Supervisor.
