Job summary

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a SAIOP Facilitator/Therapist in Leland, NC for full-time evenings (4-7pm).

The role focuses on independent diagnostic evaluations, relapse prevention counseling, and facilitating SAIOP groups to support recovery and daily living goals. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in social work or counseling, LCAS or equivalent licensure, and 1-2 years of substance abuse counseling experience, with strong skills in motivational interviewing and CBT.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college or university in human services or related field and 1-2 years of progressive substance abuse counseling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Graduation from a Master’s degree program in social work, counseling, or clinical or substance use treatment psychology
• LCAS through NCSAPPB required; and/or LCSW, LCSW-A/LPA/LCMHC-A

Responsibilities

• Provides independent diagnostic and psycho-social evaluations and counseling focusing on complicated substance use and related daily living and family issues.
• Facilitates an SAIOP group addressing relapse prevention, family issues, support needs, emotion regulation, mental health education, life skills, and interpersonal effectiveness.
• Provides case management and community support to SAIOP clients to link or integrate multiple services and reassess needs for services.
• Conducts in-depth clinical interviews to determine psycho-social and substance use history and develops initial treatment plans with follow-up counseling.
• Employs individual and group counseling methods including motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family and supportive modalities.
• Collaborates with community partners to ensure engagement in recommended treatment and appropriate level of care.
