Job summary

S&H Youth and Adult Services Inc. in Salisbury, NC is seeking a Substance Use Counselor for its SAIOP program. The candidate will provide individual, group, and family counseling, along with case management and life skills education in an outpatient setting.

The role requires adherence to SAIOP scheduling (3 hours/day, 3 days/week) with evening groups and a commitment to recovery-oriented service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 year of substance abuse treatment experience or NC SBPPP Registrant.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and able to read, write and follow instructions.
• No substantiated findings of abuse or neglect on the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry.
• No Sex Offender charges and no violent criminal charges.
• One year of supervised substance abuse counseling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate structured individual, group, and family counseling in SAIOP on an outpatient basis.
• Provide individual and group counseling, case management, and life skills education.
• SAIOP group must be offered at least 3 hours a day, 3 days a week, with no more than 2 consecutive days between services.
• Offer group sessions Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and/or 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
