Job summary

UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital seeks a Safety Dispatcher for the evening shift (2:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.). You will monitor fire, safety and medical systems, view CCTV, and serve as a communications operator and dispatcher.

Availability across all shifts is required. This is primarily a sedentary role requiring dexterity to operate lock and alarm systems. You will coordinate with staff, building engineers and on-call personnel, maintain records, and respond to emergencies with calm, decisive

Qualifications

• Must be available for all shifts as necessary.
• Experience with safety systems and dispatching is a plus.
• Ability to operate and document alarm and phone systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fire, safety and medical systems and CCTV.
• Dispatch staff and coordinate with on-call personnel.
• Operate two-way radio and document activities using the D3 system.
• Assist engineers with equipment testing and system checks.
• Maintain daily on-call records and respond to emergencies.
• Act as phone directory and operator for staff and visitors.
